Holidays have been celebrated for a long time, and a lot of people really enjoy them. However others claim that holidays do not give any satisfaction or excitement and thus consider them to be just days off.

As for me, holidays have a lot of advantages apart from giving the opportunity to rest. Firstly, they help relax and forget problems we face on a daily basis. Secondly, due to holidays we get to know the traditions and customs of our ancestors. Finally, a holiday is a great excuse to spend time with family and friends.

On the other hand, some people think that holidays are useless and are not worth spending time and effort on. In their mind, holidays are just days off because they do not teach us anything and bring neither satisfaction nor fun.

I cannot agree with these people. Those who consider holidays to be useless are simply not interested in history because there are a lot of mysterious and exciting events behind every holiday .

To sum up, I would say that we should never reject celebrating holidays. Apart from making our life more interesting and funny they help maintain strong connections with history.
